COMMUNITY STANDARDS

Community Standards

Last updated: 11 August 2026

Dropwave connects moments with real places. Echoes are made to add meaning to the world around us — never to make it less safe, less welcoming or less human.

These standards explain the kind of space we are building together: one centred on people, places, experiences and memories.

1. Respect and dignity

Be respectful. Do not bully, harass, threaten, shame or humiliate anyone. We do not allow hate, discrimination or dehumanising content directed at people or groups because of who they are.

2. Keep people safe

Because Echoes are connected to real places, safety comes first. Do not create, encourage or seek out Echoes in railway infrastructure, motorways, runways, dangerous bodies of water, construction sites, restricted areas or private property without permission.

“No Echo is worth putting somebody in danger.”

3. No illegal activity

Do not use Dropwave to organise, record, promote or celebrate illegal activity. Respect the law, local rules and the people who live, work and travel through the places you visit.

4. Protect children

Dropwave is for users aged 18 and over. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse, exploitation, grooming or sexualised content involving minors. Content or behaviour that puts a child at risk is not allowed.

5. Privacy and consent

Respect people’s privacy. Do not expose private, personal or sensitive information, including someone’s address, contact details, live whereabouts or anything that could put them at risk. Pornography, sexual exploitation and non-consensual intimate content are not allowed.

6. Violence and harmful content

Do not make credible threats of serious violence or share excessively graphic harmful content. We want Dropwave to encourage curiosity and connection — not fear, shock or real-world harm.

7. Keep the platform trustworthy

No scams, spam, malicious links, impersonation, manipulation or schemes designed to trick people. Respect copyright and intellectual property: only share content you made yourself or have permission to use.

8. Keep Dropwave about places

No political campaigning, political persuasion or partisan political content. Dropwave is intended to remain centred on people, places, experiences and memories.

9. Use location honestly

Do not misuse or manipulate location information to deceive, track, target or lure people somewhere unsafe. Do not impersonate others or deliberately use deceptive, manipulated content to cause harm.

10. Reporting and enforcement

If you find an Echo or account that breaches these standards, report it through Dropwave so it can be reviewed. Reports help us protect the people and places that make the platform worth using.

We may remove content, restrict features, issue warnings, suspend accounts or permanently terminate access. Where appropriate, appeal or complaint routes may be provided.

Create Echoes that make places more meaningful — moments people are glad to discover, remember and carry forward.

“Leave something good behind.”
