TERMS OF USE

Dropwave Terms of Use

Effective date: 11 August 2026

Dropwave is operated by Dropwave Labs Ltd, registered in England and Wales. These Terms govern your use of the Dropwave app, website and related services.

By creating an account or using Dropwave, you agree to these Terms and to follow the Community Standards.

1. Minimum age and accounts

You must be 18 years of age or older to create an account or use Dropwave. You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your account credentials secure.

Guest accounts may have limited protection or functionality until linked to a supported sign-in method.

2. What Dropwave is

Dropwave is a location-based social platform where users create short videos called Echoes and leave them linked to real-world places for others to discover.

Whether an Echo is available may depend on location, visibility settings and the product features available at the time.

3. Using Dropwave safely

Never put yourself or anyone else in danger to create, discover or view an Echo. Do not create or encourage access to Echoes in railway infrastructure, motorways, runways, dangerous bodies of water, construction sites, restricted areas or private property without permission.

“No Echo is worth risking your safety for.”

4. User content and ownership

You retain ownership of the original content you upload. By uploading content, you grant Dropwave a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, reproduce, display and distribute that content as reasonably necessary to operate, improve and provide the service.

This includes technical processing, thumbnails, moderation and storage. You must have the right to upload the content you submit.

5. Content involving other people

Respect privacy and other people’s rights. Do not upload sensitive personal information, private material or content that unlawfully invades another person’s privacy.

6. Prohibited content and behaviour

You must not post, create, promote or engage in illegal content or activity; child sexual abuse or exploitation; grooming or sexual solicitation of minors; threats, harassment or bullying; hate or unlawful discrimination; terrorism or encouragement of serious violence; dangerous behaviour likely to cause serious harm; scams, fraud or malicious links; impersonation; privacy violations; intellectual property infringement; misuse of Dropwave systems; unsafe or unlawful location placement; political campaigning, political persuasion or partisan political content; or any breach of the Community Standards.

7. Moderation and enforcement

Dropwave may use automated systems, human review or a combination of both. Content may be restricted, removed or prevented from appearing if it breaches these Terms, the Community Standards, safety policies or applicable law.

Accounts may be warned, restricted, suspended or terminated for serious or repeated violations.

8. Reporting and complaints

You can report Echoes, accounts or behaviour that you believe breaches the rules. Dropwave may provide complaint or appeal routes where appropriate. Do not make reports you know to be false or malicious.

9. Location services

Location information is central to Dropwave, but GPS and positioning technologies are not always perfectly accurate. You remain responsible for deciding whether a physical location is safe, lawful and accessible.

10. Dropwave+ and paid features

Dropwave may offer subscriptions, purchases or paid features. Pricing, billing periods and included features will be shown before purchase. Purchases through the Apple App Store or Google Play may also be governed by the applicable store terms and cancellation controls.

11. Sparks and virtual features

Dropwave may offer virtual features or rewards such as Sparks. Unless expressly stated otherwise, Sparks have no cash value, are not currency or financial products, and can only be used within Dropwave according to the applicable rules.

12. Intellectual property

The Dropwave name, branding, software, interface, graphics and other platform materials are owned by or licensed to Dropwave Labs Ltd. You must not copy, reverse engineer, resell or commercially exploit them except where permitted by law.

13. Availability and changes to the service

Dropwave cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. Features may be updated, modified, added, suspended or retired as the service develops.

14. Suspension and termination

We may restrict, suspend or terminate access where there are serious or repeated breaches, unlawful use, safety risks, security risks or legal requirements.

15. Liability and responsibility

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where doing so would be unlawful. Dropwave is not responsible for the actions of other users or the physical conditions of locations associated with Echoes.

Dropwave must not be relied upon as an emergency, navigation, security or safety service. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.

16. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how personal data is collected, used and protected when you use Dropwave.

17. Account deletion

You may delete your account using the available account deletion options. See the Delete Your Account page for further information.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the service, laws or regulations change. Where changes are significant, we may bring them to your attention.

19. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, while preserving any mandatory consumer rights you may have where you live.
